Anti Bark Collar Fitting Advice
Its important to make sure that you properly fit and place your bark control collar for an effective operation. On most collars the contact points must have direct contact with your dogs skin on the bottom of his/ her neck.
To make sure you have a proper fit for your anti bark collar , follow these steps as outlined:
1) You have to make sure that the battery is off.
2)Have your dog standing up.
3)Center the contact points underneath your dog’s neck, touching the skin.
4)With the Snap Buckle fastened, thread the collar through the metal buckle and retaining tabs
5)Slide the extra collar
through the C loop on the top of the snap buckle. This will hold the collar in place.
6)Once the collar fit is determined use the snap buckle to remove or replace the collar
7)The Anti Bark Collar has to fit snugly, tight enough for the sensor to detect vibrations but loose enough to allow one finger to fit between a contact point and your dog’s neck. Check the fit after you put it on and the dog walks around for a little bit.
Okay, this is extremely important. Listen up because I have heard complaints about this time and time again. It will be necessary on a lot of dogs who have thicker hair to sometimes trim the hair around the Contact Points or neck to make sure that contact is consistent. If you do not do this then the collar either will not function or it will work sometimes and other times it won’t.
Anti Bark Collar Works Great
Its funny because I was over my grandmothers house and she just got a new dog from a friend that yaps incessantly. He never stops. I mean he is cute as heck but the constant barking is so annoying. I opened up the garage and guess what I heard. “Bark, bark, bark”. He quiets down. Then a couple moments later I hear the same thing. Damn, how annoying.
I thought she had a terrier at first but it was not. It was some type of french dog and I can’t pronounce the name. The dog really is cute. But the constant yapping makes me want to put a muzzle on that dog. I wanted to kill it. And I like dogs. I just did not understand how he would quiet down, be okay, he came up to me, sat by me on the couch, and then a couple moments later he was barking again.
This dog needs an anti bark collar. I told her to get it. I do not care if she buys it at Petsafe or Mill and Feed but she needs to get one and quick. I called my friend because I knew he had two collars that are not really being used. I mean he bough two collars at $100 each and maybe used them three times. I tried to see if she would sell her one of his for half price but he was hesitant stating “he may use it in the future”. We’ll see about that.
I told her to go to the pet store and buy one immediately. I told her that the price tag on the no bark collar is going to be at least $130 but that if she calls the manager over and negotiates with him or her she can get it for $100. Hell, the economy is bad so she should be able to get it for $80 but that may be pushing it.
Anyway, if you have a dog that barks at everything you need this gadget. It really teaches them to behave. They will certainly get the message quick after a few harmless yet attention getting shocks that they will not be able to bark at everything. That is just no going to work anymore.
I hate to say it but if you have a small dog you should definitely get one. They work better than big dogs because they have less mass.
When you have family or friends coming over there is nothing worse than an out of control barking dog. You cannot talk over them and they can make visits very unpleasant. Do yourself a favor and get a bark collar. My anti bark collar was one of the best investments I ever got for my dogs. You need to do the same thing.
