These collars can work great for you if you use them correctly.  They have a tremendous success rate.  I have not seen a case where the anti bark collar did not work when actually used correctly and consistently.

They can really save you a lot of stress and anxiety. In some cities and towns there are laws against having dogs barking out of control so as to disrupt one’s neighbors or the community.  These devices can really help out.

You need to first think about what sort of bark collar you want.  There are several out there on the market.  Some are better than others.  There is the “Petsafe Delux Bark Collar,” the “Sport Dog Bark Collar,” the “Tri-Tronics Bark Limiter XS,” the “Ultra Min-e No Bark Trainer,” the “Dogtra YS300 No Bark Collar,” the “Innotek BC200 No Bark Collar,” the “190DT No Bark Trainer,” and finally the “PetPal No Bark 2090.”  There tons of choices out there on the market.  The price for one of these devices can range between $50-$100.

So after you picked which collar you want you need to understand how to use it and operated it.

The collar needs to be snug around your dog’s neck.  Now here is the trick.  You do not want to make the collar to tight as to make it real uncomfortable for your dog to breath.  I know a couple times I put the collar on my dog a little too tight and it was bothering him all day.

You also do not want to make the bark collar too loose because if you do the sensor will not be able t function as it will not pick up the vibrations of your dog.

Now you need to make certain the sensor on the collar is at the bottom of your dog’s neck and situated near his “voice box.”  This will allow the device to work the most efficiently.  The sensor is going to analyze the dog’s pitch and tone and trigger when necessary after three “loud” barks.

You may need to trim your dogs hair if he or she has a thick coat of fur because this device will not work if there is a lot of hair.

Take the collar off at night so that your dog does not get a rash but please, and I mean pretty please, put the anti bark collar back on your dog in the morning.  This biggest problem I have seen with this device in inconsistent use.  If you are not going to take the time to do this everyday than do not waste your time.  I spoke with my friend Bob who is an expert on dog fences and he says that pet owners not consistently putting the fence collars on their dogs is a problem as well. Be consistent!

I would also recommend double checking to make sure the batteries are still working in the collar.  When the batteries are fully charged then the green light will be blinking.  If it is not than you need to switch out the batteries.  I actually had my Petsafe collar on one of my dogs for several days before I noticed that it had no juice.  The only reason I noticed because my dog starting barking and the collar did not give him a little shock.  I had to order two new batteries.

You have to use the anti barking collar consistently for two weeks to see the t results you want.
